Shenandoah National Park Photos

Shenandoah National Park, Virginia, lies in the Blue Ridge Mountains, a few hours from Washington DC. Skyline Drive runs the length of the park as does the Appalachian Trail. I hiked several trails in October, 2004 and took these pictures. The new Firefox 1.5 web browser is available. It is a great browser I have been using for at least a year. It is free, secure and has great features. You can also try a search “roll” I have setup for the various curiouscat.com sites (via Rollyo) [that no longer works but I have setup similar customized search via Google]. This allows you to search those sites I have included in the “roll” and only those sites. I have also … Continue reading →

Deming on Management

Topic: Management Improvement I have added a new section to Curious Cat Management Improvement Connections titled: Deming on Management. W. Edwards Deming’s management ideas have greatly influenced modern management practice. Many quotes and thoughts are attributed to him. Sometimes these represent his ideas accurately, and sometimes they do not. In the Deming on Management section, I attempt to clearly indicate what he actual said and include some of my thoughts on the topic. For example, Dr. Deming is often incorrectly … Continue reading →

National Parks

I just returned from several weeks visiting National Parks in the Northwest USA: Olympic, Mount Saint Helens, North Cascades, Glacier and Mount Rainer. I will post photos of the parks to the Curious Cat Travels section as I have time. A CNN.com article, from yesterday, discusses the use of National parks and comments on camping declining at the parks. I have always preferred to hike around during the day and then eat good food, sleep in a warm bed and … Continue reading →

NYC Travel Photos

In August I spoke to the Fordham University Deming Scholars MBA Program. I spent the weekend with my brother’s family in Brooklyn. The photo to the left shows my nephew at the Statan Island Children’s Museum. The photo accurately conveys my weekend as I stuggled to keep up with his blur of activity.
